Life is a landscape. You live in the midst of it but can describe it only from the vantage point of distance. – Charles Lindbergh
Interesting notion…I guess the vantage point of distance provides a broader view, hence a landscape. I do think that when we stop to explore the physical landscape around us it can be a chance to reconnect with all that is beautiful and changing and in noticing the complexity and all that combines to make that landscape we can be reminded to both plumb our own depths and to stand back and see ourselves as part of something larger.
The human soul is hungry for beauty; we seek it everywhere – in landscape, music, art, clothes, furniture, gardening, companionship, love, religion, and in ourselves. No one would desire not to be beautiful. When we experience the beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming. – John O’Donohue
