Liberation

Liberation

(Trish Jean)

I see love very differently now
It’s a steel cable
Coated in flannelette
Wending and straight to the heart
It’s honest with an easy earnestness
It’s the presence of the true
The invitation to safe emergence

I feel love very differently now
It’s being whole and home
A bugled challenge to
Rise up to what most matters
Over and over
It’s the presence of the true
That ripples and renews

I know love very differently now
Love hopes and
Love allows
It’s the sunlight
And the shadow
It makes you laugh at odd moments
It’s the presence of the true
It grows you
It asks that you let go
And that you hold on
It’s seeing and being beheld
Love liberates
It’s an awakening
Oh my!
