Fortify the Fallen

Fortify the Fallen

(Trish Jean)

The cloud resembles
My cracked heart
Soft and split
And ever changing
As it reforms
I turn my eyes away
Back to the path of
Being lost in print.

She can write
What I cannot
For she can feel
What I must disregard
She questions not
I question everything
She regrets nothing
While I cannot undo.

I seek to fortify the body
While the spirit huddles within
The fool knocked down
Gets up again
Hands empty
Heart a pea
Mind barren and reluctant
To stumble about again.
